🍿 Snoopy Presents: There’s No Place Like Home – Snoopy (2026) – Apple TV+
Rating: 7.0/10 ️♂️
The Peanuts gang returns for a surprisingly grounded yard-sale mishap. Sally accidentally sells Snoopy’s iconic doghouse. The beagle loses his physical home and his imaginative hub. This forces the cast to confront their sentimental attachments to physical objects.
Directors Ridd Sorensen and Rob Boutilier keep the pacing tight. The animation holds that classic, nostalgic charm. Snoopy and Charlie Brown adopt detective personas to track down the buyer. This brings out fun character dynamics I rarely see highlighted.
The resolution lands perfectly. Charlie Brown trades his cherished baseball gear to Milo for the doghouse. It creates a sharp, emotionally resonant beat. Allen Stone’s original song adds a warm, thoughtful touch. It proves the Peanuts formula still works without feeling repetitive.
Strengths:
- Spotlights the lesser-used Goose Eggs crew effectively.
- Sharp, witty pacing that honors the original comic strip tone.
- Strong thematic focus on what actually makes a house a home.
Areas for Improvement:
- The Sherlock Holmes detective gimmick overstays its welcome slightly.
- Several classic characters are reduced to silent background cameos.
- The musical moments occasionally disrupt the narrative flow.
A warm, unpretentious half-hour that delivers exactly what most viewers want from a modern Peanuts special: gentle humor, recognizable character dynamics, and a tidy affirmation of belonging. It does not reach the heights of the franchise’s most resonant entries, but it never embarrasses the source material either. Suitable for the whole family and particularly pleasant for longtime fans who simply enjoy spending time with the gang.
